SUSTAINABLE   LINE-CAUGHT   WILD ALASKA COD

FREEZER LONGLINE COALITION

The Freezer Longline Coalition (FLC) is the trade association representing freezer longline vessel operators who harvest and process wild, Pacific (Alaska) cod in the Bering Sea, Aleutian Islands and Gulf of Alaska.  We are a fleet born of Alaskan ingenuity and innovation.  Our fishermen harvest cod deploying specialized longline gear, then process and freeze the cod at-sea to ensure the highest quality and freshness.  These operations have little to no impact on the ocean floor and produce minimal rates of bycatch mortality.  FLC is an active participant in fisheries management, policy and scientific research work supporting the health of the Pacific cod resource, the safety of our fishermen and the preservation of our fisheries for future generations.
